Some banks wrap the boleto in a password before they email it. Add the PDF, enter that password, and save a slip you can pay.

Boleto PDF questions
Will unlocking change the barcode?
No. The linha digitável and barcode stay as the bank generated them. Only the password gate is removed.
The boleto still asks for a password I do not know.
Look in the bank app or the email that delivered the file. This page cannot invent the bank password.
