Why HEIC fails uploads
Many ATS and government forms still expect PDF or JPG. HEIC is efficient on Apple devices but unsupported elsewhere — converting to PDF is the reliable fix without changing iPhone camera settings.
Document photos need OCR
A photo of a contract is not a digital PDF. After HEIC → PDF, choose Word or Searchable PDF with OCR so text becomes selectable. Flat lighting and square crops improve accuracy.
