Copyright and DMCA Policy — Reporting Infringing Content on PDFTrusted
PDFTrusted respects intellectual property rights. This page explains how to report suspected infringement and how we respond.
Our position on copyright
PDFTrusted provides PDF utility tools. We do not host or curate user documents — files uploaded to run a tool are transient inputs, processed and then deleted, and are never made publicly searchable or listed on any part of the site.
The pages we do publish (guides, blog posts, tool descriptions) are original PDFTrusted editorial content. If you believe any published page or asset on this site infringes your copyright, please read this policy and follow the reporting process below.
How to submit a copyright infringement notice
PDFTrusted responds to notices that comply with the requirements of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and equivalent international frameworks. Send notices to [email protected] with the subject line 'DMCA notice'.
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are involved.
- The exact URL(s) on pdftrusted.com where the allegedly infringing material appears.
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address so we can reach you.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
How we respond to a valid notice
When a notice satisfies the criteria above, we typically remove or restrict access to the identified content within a reasonable time and notify the person or team responsible for the affected page. We may request additional information if the notice is unclear or incomplete.
Incomplete or manifestly false notices will not be actioned. Submitting a notice you know to be false or misleading may expose you to liability under applicable law.
Counter-notice procedure
If your content was removed and you believe the removal was mistaken or the use is legally permitted (for example, fair use, licensing, or original authorship), you may file a counter-notice.
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your judicial district (or, for non-U.S. filers, the courts where PDFTrusted's operations reside), and that you will accept service of process from the party who submitted the original notice.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Repeat-infringer policy
In appropriate circumstances, PDFTrusted may terminate accounts or restrict service for users who are the subject of repeated valid copyright notices. Repeated malicious or false notices from the same reporter may also be sanctioned.
Trademark, publicity, and other IP claims
For trademark disputes, right-of-publicity claims, or other intellectual property concerns not covered by copyright, contact [email protected] with the subject line 'IP claim' and describe the issue. We investigate every notice and respond within a reasonable time.
Uploaded documents and privacy
PDFTrusted does not publish, index, or share user-uploaded documents. If your concern relates to a private document that another person may have processed through our tools, we cannot identify or return that document — cloud-assisted uploads are deleted on the retention schedule described in our Privacy Policy, and browser-first tools do not store file contents on our servers.
