Delete your data

You can delete your account without emailing anyone. This page says exactly what happens when you do, and what we hold if you would rather ask us to do it.

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Delete it yourself

  1. Sign in and open Account settings.
  2. Choose Delete account. You are asked to confirm, because the effect is not reversible.
  3. If you want a copy of your data first, download the export from the same page — it is available immediately, and for 7 days after you schedule deletion.

What deletion actually does

Deleting schedules the account for removal and blocks sign-in straight away. After a 7-day grace period a daily job permanently deletes the account record, the files you saved to PDFTrusted Storage, and the storage objects behind them. The grace period exists so a mistake can be undone — not as a way to keep the data.

Billing records are the exception, and only as far as tax and accounting law requires: an invoice for a payment already made has to be retained for the statutory period even after the account is gone. Nothing else survives.

Signed in with Google, Facebook or Dropbox?

Deleting your PDFTrusted account removes the account we created from that sign-in. The Google, Facebook or Dropbox account itself is untouched, and we cannot delete it for you.

To also remove PDFTrusted from that provider's list of connected apps, use its own settings: Google Account → Security → Third-party access, Facebook → Settings & privacy → Apps and websites, or Dropbox → Connected apps. Removing the connection there stops any future sign-in.

Cannot sign in, or want us to do it?

Email support@pdftrusted.com with the subject “Data deletion request”, from the address on the account. If you no longer have access to that mailbox, say so and tell us anything that identifies the account — we will ask for the minimum needed to be sure the request is yours, because deleting someone else's account on request would be worse than being slow.

We confirm by reply once the deletion is scheduled, and again once the data is gone.

What we hold, in short

  • Your email address, and the name or profile identifier your provider shares on sign-in.
  • Subscription state and billing identifiers from our payment provider.
  • Files you deliberately saved to PDFTrusted Storage, and job history for about an hour.
  • Counters for daily limits, and aggregate product analytics without your documents.
