Scan paper with your camera

Edges are found for you, the page is straightened, and the filter is chosen to make text crisp — then every page goes into one PDF. Receipts, contracts, IDs, whiteboards, handwritten notes.

  • Original photos kept on this device until you delete the scan
  • Corner drag with a magnifier for jobs like a passport or a receipt
  • Auto, B&W, greyscale and colour filters, per page

Photos are saved on this device and processed here. Nothing is uploaded, and the original photo of every page is kept until you delete the scan — so a dropped connection, a closed tab or a failed download cannot lose a document you already photographed. Language: en

Photograph paper, get a clean PDF

Point the camera at the page. The edges are found for you, the photo is straightened, and a filter is picked that turns grey paper back into white paper with dark text. Shoot as many pages as you need — receipts, contracts, ID cards, handwritten notes, a whiteboard — then download them as one PDF or one image per page. Everything runs on your device.

Your photos never leave the phone

A scan is often an ID, a bank letter or a signed contract — the last file that should be uploaded to a server to be rotated and cropped. The camera feed, the cropping, the filters and the PDF are all produced inside the browser. The original photo of every page is kept in this device's storage until you delete the scan, which is what makes an interrupted scan recoverable.

How to scan a document to PDF

  1. 1Open the scanner and allow camera access, or upload photos you already took. Nothing is uploaded — the camera feed and the photos stay on your device.
  2. 2Each shot is trimmed to the paper and cleaned automatically. To correct a photo by hand, open the page, drag the four corners onto the paper edges, and watch the result beside it.
  3. 3Pick a filter per page: Auto for ordinary white paper, B&W for the smallest, sharpest text file, Greyscale for pencil and stamps, or Colour for logos and photographs.
  4. 4Choose a page size and margin, then download one PDF with every page in order, or a ZIP with one image per page.

Why scan with PDFTrusted

  • Paper found for you — the page is trimmed to its edges and the angle is corrected, no manual cropping on a straight-on shot
  • Filters that fix real photos — a shadow across the top of a page becomes clean white paper and readable text
  • The original kept on your device — the full photo stays in your browser's storage, so an interrupted scan is never lost
  • Corner drag with a magnifier — a receipt, an ID card or a skewed page can be lined up pixel by pixel, with arrow-key nudging
  • Many pages, one file — add, reorder, rotate and delete pages, then export to A4, Letter, Legal or the page's own shape
  • No account, no watermark, no upload — the camera, the cropping, the filters and the PDF are all produced in your browser

Scan to PDF FAQ

Is the document scanner free?

Yes. Scanning is a normal free tool, with up to 60 pages in one scan and no watermark on the PDF. No account is needed to scan and download. Pro raises the daily allowance if you scan paperwork regularly.

Do my photos get uploaded to a server?

No. The camera feed, the perspective correction, the filters and the PDF are all produced inside your browser, on your own device. That matters because scans are usually the most sensitive paper a person owns — a passport, a bank letter, a medical report or a signed contract. Nothing is sent anywhere for scanning.

What happens to my photos if the page reloads or my phone dies?

The original photo of every page is written to local storage the moment you take it, before any processing happens. Reload the page, lose the connection or run out of battery, and the unfinished scan is still listed on the scanner start screen so you can carry on. The photos stay there until you delete the scan yourself.

Can I scan a document that was photographed at an angle?

Yes. Open the page and drag the four corners onto the corners of the paper. A magnifier appears while you drag so you can see exactly where the corner lands, and the corrected result is shown beside the original. Arrow keys nudge the corner a few pixels at a time, and Shift makes the steps larger.

Which filter should I choose?

Auto suits ordinary white paper with printed or handwritten text on it and is the right choice most of the time. Black and white produces the smallest, crispest file for text-only documents. Greyscale keeps pencil, faint stamps and signatures visible. Colour keeps highlights, logos and photographs intact. Original leaves the camera image exactly as it was taken.

Will the scanned PDF be searchable?

Not by itself — the scanner produces images inside a PDF, which is what a scan is. To make the text selectable and searchable, send the finished PDF to OCR PDF: the text is recognised and placed on top of the page. Do that after scanning, so you keep a clean image version as well.

Can I scan ID cards and receipts?

Yes, and they are the two cases the corner editor exists for. Photograph the card or receipt on a plain surface, open the page, and pull the corners onto its edges — the result is a straight, full-bleed image. Sizes such as A5 or the page's own shape keep a receipt from being stretched.

How many pages can I scan at once?

Up to 60 pages in a single scan, with the per-page photos living in your browser's storage. If a scan gets long, close it out and start a second one — the previous scan stays on the scanner start screen until you delete it.
