PDF Reader Online
Open a PDF to read it, not to edit it. Scroll continuously through the pages, jump from the document outline or the page thumbnails, search with highlighted hits, switch to night mode for long sessions, and keep the zoom you last used for that file. Everything runs in your browser on your device — there is no upload, no account and no ads. Free for PDFs up to 300 pages and 100 MB.
How to read a PDF online
- 1Drop a PDF into the reader, or tap Choose files. The file opens in your browser and is never uploaded.
- 2Scroll to read, or use the sidebar thumbnails and outline to jump to a page or section.
- 3Search for a word, step through the highlighted hits, and turn on night mode when you want a darker page.
- 4Print or download the original file whenever you like — zoom for that document is remembered for next time.

PDF reader questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The reader opens the file in your browser with pdf.js. The bytes stay on your device for reading, searching and printing.
Can I edit or annotate in the reader?
No — this tool is for reading. Use PDF Annotator or Edit PDF when you need marks or changes; links to those tools sit in the sidebar.
Does every PDF have an outline?
Only if the author added bookmarks. When there is no outline the sidebar says so clearly; thumbnails and search still work.
Does zoom get remembered?
Yes. The last custom zoom for a file (matched by name and size) is stored in your browser and restored the next time you open that same file.
Can I search inside scanned PDFs?
Search needs a text layer. Scanned pages without OCR will not match; run OCR PDF first if you need searchable text.
Is there a night mode?
Yes. Toggle night mode in the toolbar to darken the page stack for long reading sessions without re-uploading the file.
What is the free size limit?
Free covers PDFs up to 300 pages and 100 MB — the same on-device ceiling as our other everyday tools.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Fit width, a collapsible sidebar and 44 px tap targets make the reader usable on phones and tablets.
