Fill in and sign a form without printing it
Typed entries, a drawn or uploaded signature, and what to do when the form refuses to accept text.
Updated
Two kinds of form
A form built as a real form has fields that accept typing ? click and type. A form that is only a picture of a form has no fields at all, and clicking does nothing; that one needs a text box placed over the line.
Filling works on both. The difference is only how the entry is made.
Signing
A signature is an image placed on the page: draw it with a mouse or a finger, type it, or upload a photo of a signature on plain paper. Placing it is the easy part ? the part people forget is that the file then needs flattening if the recipient's system must not be able to move it.
Before you send it
Flatten the finished file so fields and signature become part of the page. An unflattened PDF can look different in another viewer, and some portals silently drop form fields.
- Check the page at 100% zoom: signatures placed too small are the most common rejection.
- Keep an unflattened copy if you may need to correct an entry later.
- Send the file, never the password to an account ? support will not ask for it.
