Batch Word conversion questions
How many Word files can I convert at once?
Up to 3 on Free and 20 on Pro. Each file is a separate cloud conversion, so it uses one advanced use; Free includes three advanced uses a day, Pro fifty. The panel shows the exact count before you press Convert.
Do I get one PDF or a ZIP?
A batch returns one ZIP with every PDF inside. Each PDF keeps the Word file’s name, so a folder of letters stays easy to match. A single Word file still downloads as a normal PDF.
Are my Word files uploaded?
Yes. Word to PDF runs on our conversion worker, not in the browser, because a browser cannot reproduce Word layout faithfully. The file is uploaded over TLS, converted, and removed under the retention window described on the security page. PDF-only tools such as compress and watermark stay on your device.
Why did one file fail while the others worked?
The usual causes are a damaged document, an old format the worker cannot read, or a password-protected file. The result screen names the file and the reason, and every successful PDF stays downloadable.
Will the layout look exactly like Word?
It keeps text, tables, images, and page order, but a document with unusual fonts, embedded macros, or complex text boxes can shift slightly. Open the PDF before sending it; if a layout matters, compare it with the original.
