A job failed ? what to try before contacting us
The five causes behind most failures, what the error message is telling you, and where a finished job can still be recovered.

Read the message first
A rejection is different from a failure. A rejection happens before any work starts and names the limit it hit ? file size, page count, daily jobs or advanced uses. A failure happens during processing and usually means the file could not be read or the conversion could not finish.
The usual causes
Almost every failure is one of five things, in this order of likelihood.
- The file is damaged or only partly downloaded ? open it locally first.
- The PDF is password-protected: unlock it with the password, then run the job.
- The page is a scan with no text layer, so a text-based tool finds nothing. OCR first.
- The document uses fonts or a layout the converter cannot reproduce; try the other output format.
- A large job hit the plan's page ceiling ? Free stops well below Pro on OCR, convert and AI jobs.
Recovering a finished job
Logged-in History keeps a finished job downloadable for about an hour even if the tab crashed, so a lost download is usually recoverable without running the job again. After that window the file is gone ? that is the retention promise, not a bug.
If a job failed twice on the same file, contact support with the tool name, the file size and the exact message. Do not send the document itself unless it is yours to share.

Still stuck?
Tell us the tool, the file size and the exact error text. That is usually enough to reproduce it.
